MakeStickers vs StickerApp: Fast Standard Orders vs Specialty Options

MakeStickers and StickerApp are both worth considering, but for different reasons. The biggest difference in our evaluations wasn’t production speed or sticker quality. It was selection: StickerApp offers a wider range of specialty materials and formats, while MakeStickers keeps the ordering process simple and performs well on service and turnaround.

That’s a more useful conclusion than the original version of this article, which treated the comparison as a research-only exercise and overlooked our existing company ratings.

How we evaluated them: StickerReviews’ historical company scorebook contains scores and editorial observations from our purchased-product evaluations. The original receipts, exact tested SKUs, and testing dates aren’t preserved in the current workbook, so these are overall company ratings—not the results of a new, matched October 2026 order or a product-specific durability test. We checked current product offerings and policies separately.

Disclosure: StickerReviews has commercial relationships with CustomStickers.com and YouStickers.com, mentioned later as alternatives. Neither relationship changes the historical scores for MakeStickers or StickerApp.

MakeStickers vs StickerApp: Our ratings

Category MakeStickers StickerApp Advantage
Print and product quality 3/5 3/5 Tie
Price and value 4/5 4/5 Tie
Options and finishes 3.5/5 5/5 StickerApp
Customer service 4/5 3.5/5 MakeStickers
Turnaround 5/5 5/5 Tie
Overall rating 3.9/5 4.1/5 StickerApp

The five categories receive equal weight. These ratings apply to our historical evaluations of the companies overall, not to every material, adhesive, or specialty product in their catalogs.

StickerApp’s 0.2-point lead comes primarily from its superior options-and-finishes score, not a demonstrated advantage in print quality. MakeStickers scored better in service, while the companies tied on the other three dimensions. That’s why the recommendation changes depending on what you’re actually buying.

Print quality: Neither company won this category

We scored both MakeStickers and StickerApp 3/5 for quality. That is an important result because their very different catalogs can make StickerApp seem more premium or MakeStickers seem more reliable on appearance alone. Our company-wide scoring doesn’t support either conclusion.

Our historical notes characterize MakeStickers’ quality as decent and suitable for general-purpose orders, but not at the very top of the sticker-printing field. The StickerApp notes highlight its creative material choices while flagging consistency concerns; they also reference some customer reports of soft details or imperfect cuts. Those customer reports should not be mistaken for measurements taken during a matched test of the two printers.

A 3/5 tie also doesn’t mean every item they sell comes out identically. A standard white sticker, a glitter sticker, and a holographic sticker have different constructions and visual challenges. The aggregate scorebook doesn’t preserve enough SKU-level data for us to name a specific winner for color accuracy, cut registration, adhesive strength, or outdoor durability.

Our takeaway: If your priority is the highest possible quality on ordinary vinyl, neither company topped our historical ratings in that category. If you’re choosing between these two specifically, base the decision on the format, proofing needs, price of the actual configuration, and service expectations—not an unsupported claim that one definitively prints better.

Materials and finishes: StickerApp wins decisively

This is where StickerApp earned its lead. We gave it 5/5 for options and finishes, compared with 3.5/5 for MakeStickers.

MakeStickers offers the essentials plus several decorative choices. Its published product information includes glossy and matte white material, clear stickers, holographic material, and glitter stickers. That covers a surprisingly wide range of everyday needs without an overwhelming catalog.

StickerApp goes considerably further. Its current materials menu lists transparent, holographic, glitter, mirror, prismatic, reflective, brushed aluminum, Pixie Dust, glow-in-the-dark, low-tack, and high-tack choices in addition to standard vinyl. Availability can depend on the product and configuration; a material listed in the catalog isn’t a promise that every size or finish combination is ready to order.

The extra choices matter if you’re selling collectible artwork, building a merchandise line around metallic effects, or need a removable or stronger adhesive for a particular surface. They don’t matter much when you’re ordering 100 ordinary white logo stickers.

Sticker sheets make the difference even clearer

MakeStickers’ published capabilities describe individually cut stickers and roll labels, not multi-design flat sticker sheets. StickerApp does offer custom sticker sheets that hold multiple kiss-cut designs on a shared backing.

If your artwork requires several small designs arranged on one sheet, StickerApp is the clear choice between these two companies. That’s a product-availability decision, not a claim that its sticker sheets have outperformed the competition in our testing.

Price and value: A tie in our scoring, but not at every quantity

Both companies received 4/5 for price in our historical evaluations. That means we considered each reasonably competitive overall, but it does not mean two carts containing identical stickers will cost the same today.

MakeStickers’ most useful pricing advantage is its no-minimum policy for custom individual stickers. You can order one, which makes it convenient for a replacement decal, a proof-of-concept, or checking a design at actual size. Its online maximum for stickers is much higher, so that flexibility isn’t confined to tiny runs.

StickerApp approaches minimums differently. Its published minimum for standard glossy white-vinyl die-cut stickers is $26, with the resulting number of stickers depending on size. The published minimum for sticker sheets is $28. Other materials and products can have different thresholds. These figures were checked in October 2026 and may change.

Which is cheaper for 50, 100, or 500 stickers? We don’t have a matched, same-day delivered-price quote in the source evidence, so we won’t invent an answer. For an honest comparison, use identical artwork, finished dimensions, quantity, cut type, material, laminate, delivery address, and shipping speed. Compare the delivered total, including any setup or rush charges.

A $26 starting minimum is not the same thing as a $26 price for your desired order. Likewise, the ability to buy one sticker is a convenience feature, not proof of the lowest unit price at 500 pieces.

Customer service: MakeStickers has the edge

MakeStickers received 4/5 for customer service, compared with 3.5/5 for StickerApp.

Our historical notes describe MakeStickers’ ordering as approachable and its support as responsive when an issue needs resolving. StickerApp’s notes describe generally responsive support, but less consistent experiences across the broader customer base. The workbook doesn’t preserve a dated transcript or issue-resolution record for either provider, so we won’t invent a specific conversation or refund experience.

The companies’ current published remedy policies also differ. MakeStickers says customers unhappy with an order should contact support promptly and that it may resolve problems through correction, reprinting, or refunding. StickerApp asks customers to report manufacturing defects within one week of delivery, supplying order details and photos; it may offer a reprint, refund, or credit after reviewing the case.

Neither description guarantees how an individual dispute will be handled. But MakeStickers’ stronger historical service score is a legitimate factor if you’re ordering something straightforward and want a helpful support team.

Proofing and ordering: Both are easy, with one important difference

MakeStickers sends a digital proof for new orders, generally within one business day. Customers can request revisions and approve the proof through their account or the proof link. It does not ordinarily send physical printed proofs as part of that process.

StickerApp offers an instant preview in its online editor. Its team reviews artwork before production, and buyers can leave comments requesting cutline or design adjustments. If you want to see a final human-reviewed proof before printing, request it explicitly in your order comments. An instant preview isn’t automatically the same as a final proof requiring your approval.

For either printer, check the cutline and dimensions at final printed size. Small lettering, narrow borders, transparent regions, and reflective materials deserve more scrutiny than a simple block-color logo.

Turnaround: Our historical ratings are tied

Both companies earned 5/5 for turnaround, which is one of their strongest shared attributes. It would be misleading to declare MakeStickers the outright speed winner based on our scorecard.

MakeStickers currently advertises that stickers and roll labels generally ship within two business days of ordering, subject to the proof schedule. Its published guidance says proofs normally arrive within one business day, and approvals received too late can push the ship date back. It also offers rush production options.

StickerApp publishes a typical one-to-two-business-day production window, with total delivery often estimated at three to seven business days, depending on destination and shipping method. The relevant timing is whatever checkout shows for the actual order.

Those numbers aren’t directly comparable as stated: shipping out is not the same thing as arriving. Our 5/5 scores indicate both performed strongly in the historical overall evaluations; they do not document two synchronized deliveries of identical products.

If an event date is approaching, compare the entire timeline: upload, proof, approval, production, carrier transit, and a buffer for problems.

The real decision: Which company fits your order?

Choose MakeStickers when: you want one sticker or a small standard run; you value straightforward ordering and digital proof review; you need the common white, clear, holographic, or glitter options without a complicated configuration; or responsive customer service is particularly important.

Choose StickerApp when: specialty materials and finishes are central to the design; you need a multi-design sticker sheet; you want more unusual adhesive or presentation formats; or you’re prepared to work through more options to achieve a specific creative effect.

Compare both when: you’re ordering a standard die-cut sticker in a meaningful quantity. Their historical quality and price scores are tied, and current checkout quotes may determine which is the better purchase.

What if neither is the strongest choice?

Neither company was our top-rated overall sticker provider. In the same historical scorebook, CustomStickers.com received 4.7/5 and YouStickers.com received 4.6/5. Both scored 5/5 for quality and price. Given our commercial relationships with those businesses, readers should factor the disclosure above into that recommendation. Their higher overall scores don’t establish a winner for every special material or sticker-sheet configuration.

For a conventional vinyl-sticker order, it’s reasonable to include at least one of those companies in your quote comparison rather than limiting yourself to MakeStickers and StickerApp.

Final verdict: StickerApp overall, MakeStickers for simpler orders

StickerApp wins this head-to-head on our historical scores, 4.1/5 to 3.9/5. Its larger selection of specialty materials and formats makes it the more versatile provider. If you’re building a creative sticker collection, experimenting with finishes, or need sticker sheets, that versatility is a real advantage.

MakeStickers is still the one we’d lean toward for a simple, small order. Its no-minimum policy, approachable proofing process, stronger service score, and excellent turnaround rating make it a practical choice for everyday stickers.

Most importantly, these results don’t show StickerApp producing better standard vinyl stickers. Both companies earned 3/5 for quality in our historical scorecard. The deciding question is whether you actually need StickerApp’s extra options—or whether MakeStickers can make the sticker you want with less friction.
